May Mobility is teaming up with Lyft to enter the rideshare industry, bringing its cutting-edge autonomous self-driving vehicles to more people. This partnership will expand the range of travel options for people looking for efficient, easy-to-use transportation. As May Mobility rolls out its self-driving cars on the Lyft platform, both companies will work closely with local governments and communities to ensure the smooth introduction of autonomous vehicles, aiming to benefit both riders and cities.

"Partnering with Lyft will allow us to reach more markets and give more people faster, easier transportation," said Edwin Olson, co-founder and CEO of May Mobility. "We’ll keep providing the reliable service our riders love, while working with Lyft to improve our cities."

In the near future, May Mobility and Lyft will start planning the details for their first self-driving service, including where it will operate, how long it will run each day, and the number of vehicles in the fleet. Over the next few years, the goal is to grow May Mobility’s self-driving fleet on Lyft’s platform. At first, the vehicles will have safety drivers on board, but over time, they will operate fully autonomously without a driver.

"We’re excited to have May Mobility as a new partner in the autonomous space," said Jeremy Bird, EVP at Lyft. "Riders in Atlanta will soon find it just as easy to take an autonomous ride with May Mobility as it is to use any other Lyft option. Lyft is making it easy for our partners to connect their vehicles to our network and tap into our large marketplace."

Each May Mobility vehicle is equipped with advanced technology called Multi-Policy Decision Making (MPDM), which uses artificial intelligence (AI) to make real-time decisions based on the data it gathers. This system helps the vehicle adapt to new and unpredictable driving conditions, aiming to provide a safer and more comfortable ride for passengers.
