Geek+ has introduced the world’s first vision-only robot solution, powered by Intel’s Visual Navigation Module, which includes the Intel RealSense camera. This cutting-edge technology allows the robot to navigate, avoid obstacles, and accurately position itself in complex environments, making it ideal for businesses looking to improve their logistics operations.

The Geek+ Vision-Only Robot is equipped with Intel’s RealSense camera, which provides depth perception—meaning it can understand the layout of its environment. The camera’s all-in-one design allows it to perform depth calculations directly within the device, which means lower power consumption and no need for specific hardware. This makes it more efficient and flexible for various applications. By pairing the RealSense camera with a dedicated processor, the robot can process information faster, speeding up the deployment of automation solutions.

With the Intel RealSense camera, the Geek+ robot can observe, understand, and interact with its surroundings. It collects accurate depth data to recognize objects and navigate smoothly through different environments.

In addition to the camera, the Intel Visual Navigation Module includes a Robotic Vision Hub, powered by Intel’s Core i7 processor. This hub supports the robot’s advanced algorithms for tasks like positioning, detecting objects, and following people. It also enables cloud-edge collaboration, allowing the robot to connect to high-speed networks for enhanced performance.

Driving Innovation for Smarter Logistics

Geek+ and Intel are also working together on developing advanced algorithms to improve the robot’s capabilities:

  • V-SLAM Positioning: This algorithm combines data from multiple sensors and visual features to create detailed maps of the environment. It ensures the robot can position itself accurately in complex and dynamic spaces.

  • Composite Detection Network: The robot uses both traditional object detection and a validation network to process data from various sources, improving accuracy and reducing errors.

  • Robot Following: This feature allows the robot to follow people by detecting and tracking them visually. Once the robot knows where the person is, it can avoid obstacles and follow them smoothly, making it useful in busy environments like warehouses or factories.

Thanks to Intel’s depth vision technology and Geek+’s innovations, the Vision-Only Robot offers highly precise environmental perception, positioning, and tracking. This makes it an ideal solution for improving logistics and warehousing operations, helping businesses transition to more intelligent, digital supply chains.

Moving Smart Logistics Forward

Solomon Lee, VP of Product at Geek+, said: "The Vision-Only Robot, developed with Intel, leverages the depth vision of the Intel RealSense camera. Together with our advanced algorithms, it improves business efficiency and drives growth, helping businesses upgrade their logistics to be smarter and more digital."

Mark Yahiro, Vice President at Intel and General Manager of the RealSense Business Unit, added: "Accurate depth vision is essential for autonomous robots to navigate, position themselves, and avoid obstacles. Our collaboration with Geek+ is helping push the boundaries of robot performance, making them more stable and reliable in complex environments, and enabling businesses to create agile, intelligent supply chains."

Looking ahead, Geek+ plans to continue working with Intel to develop more smart logistics solutions, helping businesses unlock new efficiencies and lead the future of logistics innovation.
